Google have been taking actions to develop a healthy competition to Apple lately, and after taking over the Internet with their search engine and other online-related tools, they’ve announced their first hardware device, the Nexus One phone, which is now close to being released. It seems that the company is really intent on rivaling Apple, as it’s been revealed that they’ve been working together with HTC to develop a tablet device for over a year and a half now.

The tablet will be powered by, of course, Google’s own Chrome OS. One of Apple’s advantages with their tablet is that they already have a strong back-end of online applications and services to provide media, applications and everything else to their customers. On the other hand, Google are the undisputed king in Internet-related services right now, and we expect them to fully utilize this for their benefit when they release the tablet.

The tablet will use cloud computing, and features a clean, streamlined interface which makes it trivially easy to perform what you need to – explore the Internet.
