Final Fantasy XIII Xbox and PS3 Diffences Revealed

final_fantasy_xiii1

The thirteenth installment in the legendary Final Fantasy series will be released next spring, and Square Enix have revealed some of the differences between the game’s PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.

The details were revealed to the Japanese magazine Famitsu in an interview, and some of them may surprise you, although we can understand why they’d make the decisions, considering the differences between the two platforms.

Xbox 360 fans will have to play the game with compressed audio and video data, in order for the game to fit on DVD – while on the PS3, which has a Blu-Ray disc drive, the game will be shipped in an uncompressed format.

Additionally, the Xbox 360 version is likely to be sold on several discs because of its size; the PS3 version won’t need to be split up and is estimatedto be about 25 GB in size, making a Blu-Ray disc more than enough to fit it.

Considering the reputation of the previous games in the series, we expect this to be nothing short of an absolute hit.

I am liking PS3 more and more, it is designed and developed with customer in mind.

Xbox have lost its appeals since its inception.

This is what gaming is all about, customer satisfaction.

What’s the point of releasing such a high detailed videogame on a horrible system like the Xbox? The need to reduce your game audio and image just so Xbots can actually get to play it before their system red-lights on them for the 30th time? That’s like Picasso making a Braille image of one of his paintins just so the blind can see it, its pointless. Keep it a PS3 Exclusive, the only thing we’ll hear from the Xbox users is how the game sounds and looks horrible and that they waited this long for this, or that they’re version is far superior to the original made version on the PS3? PS3/Blu-Ray 1 DISC, Xbox Probably 3 or more discs LOL!!!!

I totally agree with Tabizzle, and I think that’s very considerate of Square Enix. Good thing I already have both platforms. :) Do you have an exact date when FFXIII will be released?

Got something to say?
