Is Apple ready to sell the 8GB iPhone 3G S?

With the talks of the official Google Android device, Google Phone, doing more rounds on the web, pressure is mounting at Cupertino to go ahead and make public the 8GB variant of the iPhone 3G S. Apple currently sells 16GB and 32GB variants of the iPhone 3G S and the 8GB variant is only available for the older 3G version.

8Gb-iPhone-3G S-Arriving

The next generation iPhone is still a mystery and therefore Apple doesn’t really have a choice other than introducing the 8GB 3G S as an able competitor to the Google Phone.

What has added more spice to the 8GB 3G S arrival is the news of a German user receiving a refurbished
iPhone 3G in a box that was labeled for an 8GB iPhone 3GS. The phone he received was the one he ordered of course but, the box has raised hopes of an early 8GB 3G S iPhone arrival.

It is yet to be confirmed whether the box was indeed meant for a new stock of 8GB 3G S phones or the box tag had a typographical error. [via: iLounge]
