AT&T-Suspends-iPhone-Sales-in-NYC

The exclusive AT&T deal with Apple to sell the iPhones across the country is far from over and it is no big secret that the contract has a modest chance of being renewed. Considering that there is still time left for the contract to get over, it is intriguing to know that the Apple Online stores across the New York City are not selling the iPhone. There isn’t a definite reason that is being stated but some online customer service representatives have abruptly replied that NYC is not ready for the iPhone as yet.

The more logical reason behind the suspension seems to be the credit card fraud explanation which too came from the customer service. The reason is logical as all major Apple and AT&T stores across New York City have the iPhone in stock and only credit card fraud could restrict the sales.

Another explanation doing rounds is that the stores periodically modify their promotion and distribution channels which has temporarily put the sales on hold. It is high time that the AT&T comes out with a proper explanation otherwise the assumptions will just keep adding to the drama. [via: Engadget]
