Sony’s new Daily Edition 3G e-reader will receive content from 16 additional publishers, with whom Sony closed deals just recently. Sony previously announced that they had secured a deal with News Corp, and now they’ll also distribute content from The New York Times, The Dallas Morning News, The Baltimore Sun, as well as The Denver Post.

Sony are entitled to creating a massive content delivery system, which gives their customers access to a wide variety of digital content, enough to satisfy any needs. In a statement made by Steve Harber, who currently heads Sony Electronics’ Digital Reading Business Division, he noted that the company is working with some “top-tier” publishers to offer interesting content on a weekly and even daily basis – in addition to the books they already offer, which now count over one million.

Sony announced on Thursday that they will offer the Wall Street Journal for $14.99 monthly, and also MarketWatch for $10.99 and the New York Post at $9.99. Many others are already available through the system, and the 16 new ones should be added soon.
