There’s a pretty active modding community surrounding the Android-related devices, and they’ve just done something impressive yet again – they’ve taken the firmware from the Motorola MILESTONE, and successfully transferred and installed it on a Motorola DROID.

The result? Well, it’s pretty much what you’d expect – a DROID with multitouch support and all the other benefits of the Euro firmware. So far you won’t get to see it working in all its glory though – the only video available at the moment has been shot with a very low-quality camera, making the picture fuzzy and blurry. But hey – it’s the best we’ve got for now!

If you would like to try this on your own DROID, a public release of the customized ROM should be released in about two weeks, according to its developers. Keep in mind that this can potentially brick your phone though, just like any operation on its ROM, so – proceed with caution. Although we’re sure many of you hardcore Android fans will ignore this warning and rush to the download page as soon as the ROM has been released anyway.
