
Pine Trail is Intel’s upcoming Atom-based low-energy platform which will be used in many of the upcoming netbooks and all-in-one PCs. Some specifications of Asus’s upcoming EeePC models based on the Pine Trail platform has come out due to a few premature retailer listings. These are the ASUS EeePC 1005P and 1005PE both having a 10.1” display and powered by an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz processor.

The new netbooks will feature 1GB of RAM and come preloaded with Windows 7 Starter Edition. The 1005P will have a 160GB harddrive for storage while the 1005PE will have a 250B harddisk and also offer Bluetooth connectivity. Both the devices will have 3 USb ports for external devices, a webcam and will be powered by a 3-cell battery.
The ASUS Eee PC 1005P is listed on UK website LambdaTek for £242.95 ( $395 ), while the “higher-end” 1005PE is listed at £270.94 ( $439) on the same website. Both the netbooks will come in choices of black or white. More information should be coming out at the CES in January 2010.
