Nokia’s flagship model, the N900, has been confirmed by Vodafone UK to release for the United Kingdom and Ireland customers next month, after all that holiday hassle. Although there was no official statement regarding Nokia N900 availability, we found out that the British carrier’s online store has the Maeme 5 powered smartphone “coming soon”, in January 2010.

Somehow built to replace your computer while on the go, the 3G Nokia N900 is “fast – very fast” as it’s powered by a 600 MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor and brings PowerVR SGX graphics. As you already know it runs the Maemo 5 operating system, boasts a 3.5-inch 16 million color TFT resistive touchscreen display with 800 x 480 resolutions, 32GB of storage on board (expandable — like you’d need it — via a microSD card), a 5 mpix camera with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus and dual LED flash. Bluetooth (v2.0) and Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) connectivity.

Adding to the specs sheet, there’s also built-in GPS navigation (aGPS), a media player that supports MP3, WMA, WAV and eAAC audio file along with WMV, RealVideo, MP4, AVI, XviD and DivX video file formats. There’s also a FM tuner, as well as TV-out to send your video content to the external display of your choice.
