Nokia Booklet 3G now $200, LG X120 @ $50 – Best Buy & RadioShack Christmas Deals

It seems like this holiday might be the best time yet to pick up a netbook. Of course, there was all the rush and big discounts of Black Friday and Cyber Monday a few weeks ago, but that was just the beginning. Now the Christmas Shopping season is in full swing and many retailers are offering some very good deals.

One day, somebody thought up the clever idea of putting 3G connectivity in netbooks, and they getting them subsidized by network carriers. Well, it is starting to pay off now. Like most smartphones available nowadays, netbooks are also now being subsidized by network carriers. Nokia’s Booklet 3G which retails for over $600 is now available from BestBuy Mobile for $200, when you sign up for a mobile broadband data connection with two-year contracts. RadioShack is offering LG’s first netbook, the LG X120 at $50, until Christmas Eve when buyers sign up for a two-year, $60/mo. contract from AT&T.

More details and specs on the netbooks below.

The LG X120, is powered by an Intel Atom 1.6 GHz CPU along with 1GB of RAM and 160GB hard drive for storage. It has a 10.1 inch 1024×576 pixel display and comes pre-loaded with Windows XP Home. There is also a SmartOn Linux partition that can boot in seconds to provide quick access to simple tasks such as checking email.

Nokia’s Booklet 3G, runs on the same Atom processor and 1GB of RAM but with a smaller 120GB harddrive. But its display, while being the same size at 10.1”, is of a higher resolution of 1280×720 pixels , which makes it able to play 720p videos without scaling. It also has a rather unheard-of 16-cell battery that is supposed to provide upto 12 hours of runtime. The netbook is 0.8inch thick with a machined aluminium chassis and weighs less than 2.8 pounds.
