Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Gets Updated on the Xbox

Modern-Warfare-2

The long-awaited patch for Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is imminent, according to the developer. The patch addresses a serious exploit in the game, discovered some time ago, which allowed users to gain significant advantages in online games. The patch is dubbed the “Javelin Patch” by many gamers because of this exploit.

The exploit caused some serious problems in the game’s community recently, when Microsoft decided to take action against those using it, and banned the Xbox Live accounts of many people. The patch’s release has been confirmed twice on an official developer Twitter account.

The PS3 version of the game has already been updated, according to the same account, so if you’re a PS3 player, fire up your console and you should be given the option to download the update. If you’re playing on an Xbox, you’ll have to wait a bit more – according to Robert Bowling, the owner of the Twitter account, the patch should go live sometime Friday morning, so keep an eye out.
