iPhone Finally Gets Live Broadcasting via Usteam’s New App

December 9, 2009, By Radimir Bobev

Every smartphone except the iPhone was capable of broadcasting live video until now. Qik was an acceptable workaround for the problem, but the broadcasts were delayed and the program was only compatible with Wi-Fi for quite a long time. Ustream have just released their Live Broadcaster app at the App Store, and now iPhone users can stream video from their phone cameras as well.

The program works with 3G perfectly, and is completely free – the only requirement is that your iPhone’s OS is at least version 3.1. One more thing that should be mentioned about this program is that it essentially allows the iPhone 3G to record video, as it has a local recording mode – so users of the 3G can enjoy the video recording functionality of the 3GS. Videos can be played back from within the application itself, or directly uploaded to various websites, such as Ustream, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

So head over to the App store, download the program and start showing your friends the world around you through your iPhone’s camera.
