Assassin’s Creed 2 to be Updated This Week

Ubisoft just recently announced that Assassin’s Creed II will receive two add-ons in early 2010. Today they’ve also revealed an upcoming patch for the game, to be released for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions during this week, starting today for the PS3.
PS3 players should already have access to the update, while Xbox 360 users will have to wait until Friday, when their version of the game will be patched. One of the main improvements introduced in this version is the added support for 5.1 LPCM audio. Apart from that, many bugs have been fixed, such as the notorious bug which locked the game after the player resolves a glyph.
The levels have been individually re-touched as well, mostly to fix underlying bugs and balance problems. Some more serious game-breaking bugs related to level design have also been fixed, such as a bug that prevents the game from playing at all after loading a saved game on sequence 11, mission 5.
The console should automatically ask you to download the update as usual.
