The “minis” – small, very cheap games which are currently downloadable for the PSP – will soon be made available on the PS3 as well, according to Sony Computer Entertainment, who’ve revealed this when unveiling the latest update to the PS3’s firmware, version 3.15. The update should be released very soon and will be optional, and the majority of the games will be playable on the PS3 on December 17.

The update will also bring other goodies to PS3 owners – for example, it will now be easier to synchronize a new PS3 with your old one, through an option that transfers files from one PS3 to the other over the local area network. The tool automatically deletes games and other paid media on the original PS3, while it keeps photos, music and other such user-specific media, simply copying them to the new device instead.

The PS3 is receiving continuous support from Sony, which is great, considering that console gaming still isn’t on par with PC gaming in various ways – but it’s slowly getting there, and such support is surely pushing it one step further.
