December 8, 2009, By Thomas Antony

Another update has come out for Blizzard Entertainment’s World of WarCraft MMORPG. The patch notes for the 3.3 patch has appeared on the WoW servers and it has created quite a buzz in the gaming world. The patch is scheduled to hit the servers from today and is all set to add several new features to the game.

The 3.3.0 “Fall of the Lich King” update is gigantic. Some of the highlights of the update include the following:

  • Three separate 5-player dungeons – The Forge of Souls, Pit of Saron, and Halls of Reflection – containing all new challenges and missions of discovery, await players in normal and Heroic modes.
  • 10- and 25-player challenges await players in Icecrown Citadel. Only when all challenges have been overcome in the raid dungeon can players unlock hard modes for individual bosses

Also included is a dungeon finder and changes to quest tracking. You can view the full patch notes here. There won’t be any additional downtime for the new update and gamers will be able to continue to play as usual.

World of Warcraft is set in the Warcraft universe and with over 11.5 million subscribers, it is currently the world’s most subscribed MMORPG. In April 2008, World of Warcraft was estimated to hold 62 percent of the massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) subscription market. The game can only become more popular as new features added by the 3.3 patch become active.
