AT&T Mark the Spot app to help users submit complaints on service

December 7, 2009, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

AT&T is going the extra mile to make sure that it stays on top of customers’ minds. If you are an AT&T customer and have a complaint, the people at AT&T are more than willing to sort it out as soon as possible. The carrier has now launched an app, christened Mark the Spot, to address complaints and find solutions as fast as possible.

The new app would let AT&T network users submit complaints on anything that has gone wrong from the carrier’s side. So if you have a dropped call or have experienced poor service coverage or even feeble voice quality, you will now be able to bank on Mark the Spot to get them ironed out. Mark the Spot rides on GPS technology for the iPhone 3G and the iPhone 3GS, so that it could easily pick the spots where the users are facing service hassles. Meanwhile, for the normal first-generation iPhones, the app makes use of cell tower-triangulation.

With iPhones riding on the AT&T network, it has become imperative for the carrier to make sure the service is exemplary. However, of late, iPhone owners have been complaining about the AT&T network. The first complaints came up soon after the Apple iPhone went on sale in 2007. Problems went almost out of hand when the 3G version followed soon after. The advent of Mark the Spot may be attributed to such a scenario, which would have otherwise led to embarrassment for the carrier. AT&T now believes that the new app would set things right. .

As is obvious, Mark the Spot is being made available free-of-cost. Any user can download the app at the iTunes App Store. Once you are hands on with the app, you can report any problem you face by just hitting the buttons on your phone screen. So if you are an iPhone user on the AT&T network,  Mark the Spot is for you. The app can be downloaded onto all iPhones running version 3.0 or later of Apple OS. Go for it.
