Verizon Wireless Now Offering Samsung Omnia II

December 2, 2009, By Radimir Bobev

The Omnia II was delayed quite a lot, but it’s finally been released and is now available from Verizon Wireless – and just in time too, as the Christmas shopping has begun and everyone is busy looking for the perfect gift. This is Verizon’s second device to use Windows Mobile 6.5 after the HTC Imagio.

The device will feature a 5 MP camera,  8 GB of internal memory – which you can always expand through the microSD slot, as well as most features you’d expect to find in a smartphone, such as Wi-Fi support, stereo Bluetooth and EV-DO Rev. A. connectivity.

One thing the Omnia doesn’t have is the global roaming functionality present in the Imagio, but considering all of its benefits, that’s a minor thing that shouldn’t bug anyone much. After all, just one look at the 3.7″ WVGA AMOLED display gets you in the mood to make a lot more compromises than that.

The phone will be sold for $199.99 under a contract for 2 years. At this price, it’s definitely a device worth considering – either for yourself, or for someone you love.
