Barnes & Noble to Start Selling The Nook December 7th

December 1, 2009, By Radimir Bobev

The Nook, Barnes & Noble’s long awaited e-book reader, will soon be released to the public. It was supposed to be released right after New Year, but the huge demand caused B&N to delay the release with one week in order to produce enough to satisfy the public. The reader will be delivered to those who pre-ordered before November 20th somewhere around Christmas.

The rest of us will have to wait until December 7th to get their hands on the Nook, but it should be well worth the wait, seeing what the device will offer. The Nook comes with 2 GB of internal memory, enough for more than 1500 books. Also, it has an SD card slot, which is a huge advantage over Amazon’s Kindle, which only had such a slot in its first version for some reason.

Apart from the standard main screen, which in the Nook’s case is a 6-inch one, there’s also a smaller, full-color touchscreen below it, which is used for user input. This is quite an interesting interface setup, and we can’t wait to see how it works out.
