The new HP iPAQ Glisten has hopped on to the AT&T network. The carrier has officially announced that the feature-rich 3G world phone, complete with an AMOLED screen, has been targeted at businessmen on the go.

The HP iPAQ Glisten is in fact a welcome addition on the AT&T network as it features Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system which is much sought after by the high flying professionals. It also offers all usual Windows Phone enhancements such as Windows Marketplace for Mobile, IE Mobile 6 and the Facebook app. The new phone also offers a dedicated WiFi control button and access to AT&T’s 20,000 WiFi hotspots.

Being offered for a price of  $229.99, users can also avail of a $50 AT&T Promotion Card that comes with a two-year agreement and smartphone data plan. AT&T has lined up the handset at all its business service spots, HP corporate sales counters. A statement added that the smartphone will also be yours to pick at small and medium business and consumer websites at AT&T.com, HP.com and a few third-party e-commerce websites.

The new HP iPAQ Glisten is a smartphone that comes with a touch-friendly user interface and improved browser with Flash support. The redesigned Start Menu, and Internet Explorer Mobile options offer easy access to a slew of Web pages. Features include a full QWERTY keyboard and five-way directional pad for fast, easy and accurate messaging.

We like the built-in speakerphone that gives hands-free control with Voice Commander, voice recognition software which reads text messages, emails and appointment details. Seems like the new HP iPAQ Glisten would help AT&T bring in more customers in the short-term.
