AlienWare to Distribute Steam On Its Computer Systems

AlienWare is a well-known manufacturer of high-end computer gaming systems. They have been on the market for quite a while, and their products have become the epitome of high quality gaming gear today. The company has recently announced its decision to include Valve’s content delivery platform, Steam, on its systems by default.
In addition, every computer purchased from AlienWare will come with a free copy of Valve’s absolute hit game, Portal. AlienWare have explained their decision by stating that Steam is a service which makes gaming much more easy and accessible for gamers, both casual and more serious ones alike.
The decision raises some questions though – Valve already hold about 70% of the digital content delivery market, and this deal looks like it will seal their monopoly-like status even further. While the service they’re providing is still top-notch, we can’t help but wonder where this is all going. Hopefully, only good results will come out of it in the end.
