Buffalo SuperSpeed USB 3.0 DriveStation HD- HXU3 debuts, prices start at $199.99

The first SuperSpeed USB 3.0 external storage solution from Buffalo Technology has debuted. Christened DriveStation HD-HXU3, the new device comes targeting creative professionals, computer power users and digital content creators. Buffalo Technology has reiterated that the new DriveStation HD-HXU3 with SuperSpeed USB has all in it to offer users the ability to quickly back-up and store important data and other digital assets.

The new DriveStation HD-HXU3 has been built to combine USB 3.0 performance with the latest hard disk technology to give consumers a faster, reliable solution by offering transfer rates up to 625 MB per second. This means it enables accelerated transfer and storage of high-resolution graphics, digital audio/video, large multimedia files and photos.

Buffalo Technology has in fact lined up the DriveStation USB 3.0 storage solution as a backward-compatible device and it works with all USB 2.0 enabled computers and notebooks. These apart, it could be used with any forthcoming USB 3.0 models too. According to the company, the new device would be offered in capacities of 1.0TB, 1.5TB and 2.0TB. Available now at prices of around $199.99 for 1TB (HD-HX1.0TU3), $249.99 for 1.5TB (HD-HX1.5TU3) and $399.99 for 2.0TB (HD-HX2.0TU3), the device comes with a one-year warranty. On the storage front, the device comes powered by the Memeo AutoBackup software which enables users to manage and backup files in real-time.

Along with the new SuperSpeed USB DriveStation, Buffalo has also brought to the market a two-port USB 3.0 PCI Express Interface Card IFC-PCIE2U3, which lets users upgrade their PC or Mac to utilize SuperSpeed USB for faster data transfer speeds.
