The BlackBerry Bold 9700, RIM’s sequel to their earlier BlackBerry Bold, has been on sale in the US for the last week on T-Mobile and abroad on other carriers for many weeks now. Now AT&T has joined the bandwagon by making the new smartphone available on their networks. Its probably going to meet with a mad rush as BlackBerry fans on AT&T’s network crowd the stores.
The Bold 9700 has been available the “premium” customers for the one last week and it was released to the general public today morning. You can pick one up at your nearest AT&T store for $200 after a $100 mail-in rebate when you take up a 2-year contract.
The 3G-capable BlackBerry Bold 9700 is the latest member of the Blackberry Bold series from RIM. It has a new sleek and refined design with a 2.5-inch HVGA+ display, optical trackpad for easy navigation, and a 3.2 mega pixel camera.
The device also supports HotSpot@Home and Visual Voicemail. The full QWERTY keyboard will make it easy to type out all those long rants and emails. Also included is GPS suport for the AT&T Navigator, Wi-Fi connectivty with a 624 MHz processor at the core of it all.
If you don’t want to get into a contract, you can get it at $449 and use it with any carrier.
