Verizon Samsung Omnia II

If last month we caught wind that Verizon is going to bring the new Samsung Omnia II to their network, today we can finally confirm it that the US carrier has set a release date for the handset on December 2nd. Priced at $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate, Big Red’s version of the Omnia II should bring a rather large 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED display, has 8GB of built-in memory and a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of memory.

On top of that, the Verizon Samsung Omnia II is also ready to charm with its 5 megapixel camera, 3.5mm audio jack, the GPS receiver with A-GPS and an accelerometer. Also, rumors that the handset is going to run on Windows Mobile 6.1 have finally been put at rest as we can confirm that the operating system for this little cutie is actually Windows Mobile 6.5.

So are you going to wait for the new Samsung Omnia II to hit on Verizon, or you’d much rather go for an Android powered mobile like the Motorola Droid?
