Sony Ericsson’s Kurara is all set for the debut. We have been in fact keeping our eyes wide open to see if the company is announcing some details about the new handset with the Symbian OS, but nothing seemed forthcoming. Finally a couple of specs have surfaced, bringing with them hopes that we might get to see the handset in stores by mid-next year. The Kurara is expected to come powered by 256MB of RAM, named Cortex A8. Sony Ericsson is also said to have thrown in the PowerVR graphics processor, which boasts of capabilities that could aid 720p video recording and playback. A handful of experts believe that the Kurara might well be a Satio upgrade with the Rachael user interface. It is expected that Sony Ericsson might showcase the Kurara at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February. This might as well mean that the handset might start shipping around mid-2010. However, it is tough predicting a confirmed launch date.
Sony Ericsson is also expected to attach a $ 745 and might bring it first to the European market.
To be a smartphone with a 3.2-inches display, the Kurara is expected to support run HSPA, A-GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0. A FastPort with standard 3.5mm headphone jack and microUSB for connectivity and charging would be the other features. We are just waiting for the Mobile Congress to open this February to gather more info on the new Sony Ericsson product.
