The Samsung P2770HD, unveiled for the Korean market, is nothing short of a charmer. Broad and a fascinating eyeful with 27-inches of display space, the new monitor comes across as a feature-laden device which can also be used as a HDTV.

Available in the Korean market for 549,000 won, the P2770HD boasts of a TV tuner and HDMI input. Features such as picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture options are built in such a way that users can combine their PC desktop with live TV on the screen. These features, in fact, would allow the user to continue using the PC even as his favorite TV show is on.

Samsung has said it has included a full 1080p HD resolution. Contrast ratio stands at a dynamic 50,000:1 .Volume controls ensure that sound flows in via a couple of 3-watt speakers. These speakers ensure simulated 5.1 surround sound.

The speakers support Dolby Digital Plus and SRS TruSurround HD 5.1 surround sound formats.

Other specifications include a 300cd/m2 brightness ratio and a 5ms response time. Connections, apart from the HDMI input, also include a DVI-D input, a VGA input, optical audio input, an auxiliary input, component video and audio, as well as composite audio. If you need to have an antenna connection, Samsung has made provisions for that too.

Though the monitor is now available only in Korea, it is expected that Samsung might take it to American shores too in the near future.
