Black Friday Ads Promise Some Great Deals

Every year, there is one day, when most retailers and stores across the United States stay open for almost 24 hours and offer really great deals and deep discounts. It is what is known as “Black Friday”. It is the Friday that comes after Thanksgiving and is the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season. While it is not an official holiday, many employees ( except those working in banks and at retailers ) get the day off and this does a lot to increase the number of shoppers.

Black Friday

A more recent invention is the “Cyber Monday” which is the Monday coming right after Black Friday, which is a really busy day for online retailers who will be offering some cool promotional deals. This year, Black Friday falls on November 27th with Cyber Monday on the 30th. It’s still almost two weeks away but it has already started raining ads and offers in anticipation of Black Friday. We will take a look at some of the good deals that we found.

First up is BestBuy, the retailing chain accounting for more than 19% of the US consumer electronics market. The store has announced that they will be selling an Acer Extensa EX5230E-2177 Notebook for $249.99. Other offers include $20 off any $100 online purchase if using Paypal, $200 – $520 off on Dell and HP computers, $130 off for widescreen LCDs, $150 off for TomTom GPS receiver, 40% discount on Garmin GPS, $50 off for iPod Touch and a free $30 giftcard with purchase of iPods.

WalMart is also offering some good deals. They are offering a free $100 Gift Card when you buy a Xbox 360 Console for $199, a 15.6” HP laptop for $298, nd a 46” Panasonic TC-P46U1 Plasma HDTV for $798. Amazon’s Black Friday Electronics offerings include a similar deal on the Xbox 360 with a $100 gift coupon, several Windows 7 netbooks under $350.

As more an more retailers are releasing their black friday ads, sites have popped up around the internet that help you keep track of the deals at the retailer of your choice. Some of these are:

BlackFridayAds
Black-Friday.net
TheBlackFriday
DealTaker
BlackFriday.info
RetailMeNot

So if you were thinking of making a major gadget purchase or just about any big holiday purchase soon, you had better hold on for just a little bit longer. There is a very good chance of getting a really awesome deal on it this Black Friday.

Another site to try is ZingSale.com It’s a free service that tracks prices of products from online stores (like amazon) and sends you an email when the price drops. I also used it last christmas and was able to save quite a bit on the electronics i bought.
