Free Google WiFi in Select Airports for the Holidays

Google knows how to make a gift and sweeten the deal for the jet-setter landing during the holidays season in select US airports by offering them free WiFi access. We all know how expensive WiFi could be in airports so getting the chance send an email to your family or friends that you’re safely switching planes or that you arrived safely it’s a nice thing.

“We’re very happy to extend our Holiday Wi-Fi gift to the millions of people who will spend time in airports over the next few months. We know that this is a very hectic travel season for people, and we hope that free Wi-Fi will make both traveling and connecting with friends and family a little bit easier,” said Marissa Mayer, Vice President of Search Products and User Experience at Google.

Google has announced that they’ve partnered with Boingo Wireless, Advanced Wireless Group, Airport Marketing Income and others to offer the free WiFi service in 47 airports in the US in cities like Las Vegas, San Jose, Boston, Baltimore, Burbank, Houston, Indianapolis, Seattle, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, St. Louis and Charlotte, starting today till next year on January 15. More to it, the company said that the airports in Burbank and Seattle will offer free access indefinitely.

Oh and we almost forgot. If you’re boarding on a Virgin America flight going to Boston, Seattle, Las vegas, San Diego or Fort Lauderdale, you’re not only going to have free WiFi access in the airport, but in-flight Wi-Fi too.
