All the iMac fans who pre-ordered their BIG iMacs back in October will now have chance to dance around mad, as Apple has started sending off shipping confirmation to their per-order customers. These quad-core all-in-one and BIG 27-inch iMacs should be reaching them soon.

Apple 27 inch iMac

Apple had announced these quad-core Intel iMacs powered by Core i5 and Core i7 processors back in October and had promised to ship them in November. The 27-inch displays will be LED backlit with a massive 16:9 2560×1440 resolution. The Core i5 version is priced at $1999 and the Core i7 version at $2199.

The “lower end” one of the pair will pack a 2.66GHz Core i5 750 and the other one runs on a Core i7 860 2.8GHz. Other than that both will have common specs such as 8MB of L3 cache in each processor, 4GB of DDR3 1066 MHz RAM expandable to 16GB and 1TB SATA HDD for storage. Graphics will be powered by an ATi Radeon HD4850 GPU with 512MB GDDR3 video RAM. Also included is a MiniDisplay port, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, SD card slot, and an iSight video camera. The package comes with Wireless Apple Keyboard and Magic Mouse.

Those who ordered the machines back in October will have had their hardware shipped out of Shanghai this week already. Those who ordered later will have their iMacs shipped soon.
