4Th-gen iPhone (iPhone 4G) To Bring an RFID reader

iPhone 4G

Verizon and Motorola have unleashed the power so it’s only natural for Apple to do something unless they want to lose a big portion of the market. So how about a new rumor on the smartphone scene about the 4th-gen iPhone (iPhone 4G) ? If we’re to believe a “highly reliable source”, Cupertino is supposedly working on a bunch of prototypes that will integrate RFID readers directly into the touchscreen.

According to Near Field Communications World who contacted Einar Rosenberg, the CTO of Narian Technologies, Apple have also submitted for several patents involving iPhone RFID, which will allows users to scan a tags by simply pointing out to them. More interesting is the fact that the new technology will turn the iPhone and the iPod into into a tag, which will enable authentication with other devices including Wi-Fi and network configuring using the tag information.

“If Apple does it, expect every phone manufacturer and their sister to begin pumping out NFC enabled phones, at least for service discovery and sync,” Rosenberg speculates. “Guess I’ll be touching my iPhone to my Mac to link them together to sync iTunes by next year.”

The iPhone 4G is going to be sleek.

Let the games begin!
