BlackBerry Curve 8530 coming to Verizon on November 20th

Verizon today announced that the BlackBerry Curve 8530 will be hitting the stores the 20th of this month. This is the second smartphone announced today after the HTC Droid Eris earlier today. The new BlackBerry will have access to Verizon’s 3G network, Wi-Fi and GPS.

The Curve 8530 is the newest BlackBerry offering from Verizon, touting a full QWERTY keyboard and a touch sensitive trackpad (instead of trackball) for reliable navigation.  It will be available in black and smoky violet and will be priced at the same level as the Droid Eris at $99.99, after a $100 mail-in rebate.

The BlackBerry Curve 8530 runs on a 528 MHz processor and will have 256 MB of flash memory. Connectivity options are in the form of 3G EVDO Rev.A, Wi-Fi b/g and Bluetooth. The smartphone also features a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, dedicated media keys and BlackBerry Media Sync. There is a microSD slot for storage expansion and you get a 2 megapixel camera to help fill up those cards.

The BlackBerry Curve 8530 is available at the sub-$100 pricepoint when bought with a new 2-year contract from Verizon with data plans starting off at $29.99 on top of voice plans.
