Olympus ep2

The much-talked about Olympus E-P2  may not be here as yet, but leaked info on the camera has started doing the rounds again. It seems like Olympus has made a habit of staying in the news, with leak after leak flooding the Web. From what we hear, the E-P2 has the killer looks. But we still don’t know when exactly it would arrive.

The latest leaks have not made us sit and wonder as to when it would finally arrive. Simply because, except from the looks, the info we have on the camera doesn’t give us the impression that the E-P2 could be a charmer of the first order. However, it seems like the camera maker has gone in for some welcome upgrades. Now that Olympus has made as wait for so long, it is only natural that customers would expect a camera that is unique in all respects.

Here is what we have gathered about the Olympus E-P2. The camera would be a 12.1 mega pixel device with AF tracking. To be presented in a black color option, the E-P2 would feature an electronic view finder and 3fps shooting. The E-P2 will also come with a 720p movie mode. Olympus has incorporated a 1.44 million dot electronic viewfinder with 100 per cent field of view. The upgrade compared with the earlier E-P1 is that the company has added two additional Art Filters –  Diorama Filter and Cross Process – taking the total to eight. The camera would also come with the  i-Enhance function to enable color boost. Lenses include Zuiko Digital ED 9-18mm f/4.0-5.6

The E-P2 indeed has good looks but the price is a bit higher at $1,406. The consolation is that for that amount you could take home a 14-42mm lens too.

With leaks after leaks bombarding the Net, we now expect the real device to come soon. We learn that there are chances that the E-P2 might arrive in January 2010. Let’s wait.
