Acer Liquid A1, the first Snapdragon Android phone

Ever wondered how the Acer would package its Acer Liquid A 1? From what we learn, the smartphone would be the first Snapdragon Android phone and is set to lure you to Acer stores.


Previews of the smartphone say the Acer Liquid A 1 is miles ahead of peers for its performance and stability. The first Snapdragon Android phone has benefited a lot from the recent release of the Android 1.6 OS. The Acer Liquid A1 comes powered by a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that could make it a winner. The high-speed internet access adds to the exciting Android experience.

The previews say that the Acer Liquid A 1 comes with a touch-sensitive Android-typical menu keys and also incorporates the traditional volume up/down rocker, a camera shutter key which also starts the camera application and a power/stand-by button. The camera that supports 5 megapixels, a mini USB port for charging and connecting the device to the PC as well as a 3.5 mm stereo headset plug on the top are the other features. Unread messages, missed calls and battery status are notified with the help of three LED icons on the top panel.

Complete with a 3.5″ WVGA (800×480) capacitive touchscreen, the device is just 115x64x12.43 mm in size and weighs as less as 135 g. Storage reads 512 MB FLASH ROM and the company has thrown in 256 MB SDRAM to support user applications. The memory can be expanded by microSD cards.  Replaceable 1,350 mAh Lithium Polymer batteries assure you at least 5 hours of talktime.

The Acer Liquid A 1 will come connectivity features like WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, GPS, digital compass and a G-sensor. The smartphone will be brought to the market in hues of white and black, red and black and black and black. The design is so simple, but attractively presented that you might want to pocket the smartphone as soon as it arrives. We are just waiting to know what’s on the pricing front.
