Motorola Droid Available For Pre-Order on Best Buy at $199.99

The Motorola Droid saga is not yet over. After seeing the Droid’s full specs and pricing details, more good news came our way today when we heard Best Buy will have the Android-powered handset available for pre-order at $199.99. More to it, they’ve worked on an automate mail-in rebate which means that if you pre-order it with Best Buy you’ll be avoiding all those hassles about mail-in rebates from Verizon, but still have to sign a new two years contract with Big Red.
We’re excited to feature this new device for our consumers, as it represents the latest and greatest in mobile technology. Bringing the DROID to Best Buy Mobile expands our already unmatched assortment of smartphones allowing customers to compare high-end devices like the iPhone 3GS, HTC Hero and DROID all under one roof. The fact that customers can purchase the phone first at Best Buy through the pre-sell is an added bonus.
Good move Best Buy. You got us on that one!

I would pre-order, but best buy is charging $50 to reserve the phone. In essence, you are only getting half of your rebate. They don’t honor “New Every 2″ either. As a current customer, I’m not excited enough to drop an extra $75 on the phone by going through best buy.
That $50 you put down goes towards the purchase price of the phone.
Got something to say?
