Pentax adds a splash of colors on new Korejanai K-x; camera unveiled in Japan

It is called the Korejanai K-x, and it comes with bright red, blue, yellow and white. Pentax on Monday unveiled the camera, which is a colorful version of its own K-x DSLR, in Japan. But why such a name you wonder? Pentax has the answer. The camera comes modeled on the Korejanai Robots.

Is it just the colors and the name that are unique? Seems more so! A closer look reveals that the Pentax Korejanai K-x has almost the similar features as what the slew of cameras available in the US and other parts of the world offer. For instance, it comes with 12.4MP resolution, 2.7-inch rear LCD, 720p HD video capability, and an 18 to 55mm lens. What’s so unique about this camera then?

In fact, the new Korejanai K-x has all what the earlier version boasted of. If you would recollect, the earlier version had a 12.4-megapixel CMOS image sensor with sensor-shift shake reduction, a large 2.7-inch live view screen, widescreen HD video capture (720p), various processing and filter modes for some unique snaps, 4.7 frames per second continuous shooting and a responsive 11 point wide angle SAFOX VIII auto focus system. The new version also has all that.

The pricing however has climbed. At around $880, the new Pentax Korejanai K-x is priced on the higher side. However, we might go for it as it has all in it to be carried around as a colorful toy. Pentax has decided to sell the camera in Japan for the moment and the new toy will hit stores on November 2. We just hope the Korejanai K-x would ship to other corners of the globe too.

The price is pretty steep. BUt i must say that veering away from the monotonous black color is a great move y Pentax. Great idea.

Got something to say?
