Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA X3 Arrives by Early November

October 17, 2009, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

XPERIA X3, the Android phone from Sony Ericsson, is rumored to be all set for an early November 2009 arrival. Talks of an earlier launch come after most phone enthusiasts had thought that they would have to wait till January 2010 to put their hands on the X3.

Earlier codenamed Rachel, the new phone would boast of a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 processor and would incorporate features such as 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, an 8.1 mega pixel auto-focus camera and a 3.5mm jack. Besides, a 4-inch, 852×480 touch screen is also rumored to have been added by the phone maker.

Though Sony Ericsson had a few months ago showcased a prototype of the XPERIA X3 with an Android 1.6, it is expected that the phone would come equipped with Android 2.0 when it hits stores in November. The rumors of an early November release surfaced following a leaked picture of the X3. Though the exact date is still not known, we hear that Sony Ericsson might start to ship models in two hues – Sensuous Black and Luster White.

Going by the looks of it, the XPERIA X3 is most likely to give Acer Liquid a run for its money. The Acer Liquid A1, which was recently announced, had boasted of the 1GHz Snapdragon chipset. Another contender waits in the wings in the form of the much-expected HTC Dragon.
