Acer, the worlds third largest PC vendor has come out with their first Android-based smartphone, the Acer Liquid.  According to Acer it is “the world’s first Qualcomm Snapdragon processor based and world’s first Android 1.6 ( Donut ) high definition smartphone”.

Acer Liquid

The Liquid features an 800×480 pixel capacitive touchscreen and under the hood, is the Snapdragon 1GHz processor. This will make it the fastest Android smartphone yet. The Snapdragon is the processor running in the Toshiba TG01 and the upcoming HTC HD2 smartphones.

The smartphone will also have a 5 megapixel camera with built-in GPS geo-tagging of photos. This lets you know where and when you snapped a particular shot. High speed web access is available over HSPA 3G networks. Since it runs on the screaming fast snapdragon, the Liquid can support 3D graphics.

It is also supposed to have improved power management, and a brand new customized UI with focus on entertainment and web-integration. There will be built-in address book integration with Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and other such social networking apps.

With ellipse curves, a choice of red, white and black colors, and a slim body shape, the Liquid will please style-seeking consumers. Much of the specs as well as pricing and availability information is still under wraps.
