Google is the one that reminds us of such people with its regular doodles and today it has dedicated its Logo to the Mahatma. Last time around, it was 400 Years of Galileo’s Telescope which made Google change its logo.

The Mahatma who is still an icon for many great modern thinkers is alive through his famous quotes that intend to preach the principle values of non-violence.

His perseverance with non-violence and civil disobedience campaigns helped India achieve freedom from the British Rule. It was told that Gandhi helped India achieve freedom without shedding a single drop of blood.

His calmness and yet a resolute decision to attain freedom is what stifled even the toughest English officers who ruled the Indians on behalf of the East India Company.

He also played an important role in uplifting the status of the untouchables (belonging to an inferior caste) in a Country marred by religious dogmas. Google should be appreciated for remembering such a great man with a worthy Logo. [Via: Csmonitor)
