Smart phones aren’t just limited to low resolution cameras anymore and even 12MP variants integrated to a mobile phone sound usual. Take for instance the Samsung SCH W880 which is a camera-phone that brags of 12MPs ability. Officially christened the Samsung AMOLED 12M, Samsung is yet to announce its global release date and only the Koreans are sure of getting it in October.

Shifting the focus away from the camera, the SCH W880 offers a 800 x 480 3.3-inch AMOLED screen which pleases the touch savvy generation.

As far as the camera is concerned those 12MPs are assisted by a 3X of optical zoom, 720p video recording and dedicated camera controls. Picking the focus isn’t a worry as that too is facilitated on the touch courtesy of the Touch AF technology. As far as the assistance software is concerned, the users get image stabilization and smart auto modes.

Once the SCH W880 goes public across the globe, those small time digital camera seekers might just want to buy a phone with similar capabilities. [via: Engadget]
