It’s an honest confession that the drop in the prices of the existing iPod Touch models was not anticipated by us but yes, the pressure because of the competition from similar gadgets is what probably brought about this change- and this is what we could sense since a long time. No concrete change has been made to the existing line of Touch iPods but yes the prices have been slashed. The new models use the same CPU as the iPhone 3GS.

The variants that did get redone are the iPod Nanos which have been integrated with a camera capable of capturing images and recording live videos however, there is no direct synchronization to YouTube and for that you would require a PC.

There is also a small speaker laden with the ‘undefined’ camera. iPod Nanos with cameras are available for a purchase right away and the aspiring buyers will have to shell $149 for an 8GB option and $179 for a 16GB edition. [via: Engadget]
