Supersonic Aerospace International developing Quiet Supersonic Transport
Today has been quite inspirational in terms of our finds of thingamajigs that adore greenery or eco-friendliness. It was the Samsung Green Phone that pleased us first and now we have one of the biggest machines adoring the importance of silence and green conscience. Supersonic Aerospace International is behind the efforts with its Quiet Supersonic Transport (QSST).
The unique QSST aircraft cuts down noise pollution and also reduces the emissions drastically, thereby doing the ecology a favor.
The jets which have currently been developed to the prototype level promise to hit speeds close to Mach 1.8, but despite that, will be able to reduce noise over a 100 times as compared to the Concorde.

The amazing reduction in sound is the courtesy of a combination of aerodynamic shaping of the ‘v-tail’ with the state-of-the-art engine design.

The engines used in these jets will meet the prescribed emission standards in high-altitude flights. Such capable jets should hopefully be ready by 2014 and the consumers with get the delivery by 2016. [via: Gizmowatch]
