iPhone 3.0.1 Update Released with SMS Security Patch [ Apple updates the iPhone SMS Vulnerability Patch Sooner than Expected]
Apple did face a lot of criticism for knowing about the SMS Vulnerability which helps a hacker take complete control of your iPhone, for almost a month without a solution. Surprisingly, it now looks Apple was ready with a patch long back but it just wanted the vulnerability news to go public, we suppose.

It has now come across that the patch for the SMS vulnerability is ready-sooner than expected-making your iPhone safe and secure.
The release of the Apple iPhone Software update 3.0.1 on Friday is what catered to the concern as the update included the patch. As per O2 UK, the patch was to be readied by Saturday, but then, Apple managed to surprise everyone.
The patch alongwith the update is available via iTunes and the size of the download depends on which version of the iPhone is getting updated.
To get the update, the users need to connect to their PCs and click ‘check for updates’ in their iTunes. The time is also right for AT&T to roll out the much-hyped multi-media messaging.

I did this. The update screwed up my phone & apparently the only option was to restore the phone.
Got something to say?
