BlackBerry 9700 Codenamed BlackBerry Onyx Specifications

Apparently, there is a lot of confusion prevailing about an upcoming Black Berry device and it begins with the christening act. The latest of the BlackBerry devices is the 9700 and another name doing rounds for it is the Onyx or better known as the BlackBerry 9020. The specifications point out towards the latter name being the right one, but there can be another situation.

BlackBerry 9700 can actually be the BlackBerry Onyx formerly known as the 9020. We will soon have a better answer I suppose and it is better to focus on the specs.

The ‘mysterious’ phone will come with connectivity support for Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and UMTS/HSDPA. Talk about the basic features and the phone will have a 480×360 resolution display.

It will run on the OS 5.0 (so there is no Android here) and will station a QWERTY keypad to please text-savvy buffs. Also, there will be Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a 3.2MP camera on the rear. [via BlackBerrycool]
