Kingston Technology Data Traveler 300 [World's first 256GB flash drive]

If an SSD and a flash drive have a cost per gigabyte stat at par, which one would you go for then? The answer is not that difficult and that is what confuses us when we talk about the World’s first 256GB flash drive-Kingston Data Traveler 300.
At a whopping cost of about $900, I can see buyers only from select group where small size is the USP. Other than that, a flash drive with data transfer speeds of 20MB/s sounds a lame offering.
Focusing solely on the storage capacity traits, it surely is the World’s first flash drive to have a storage capacity of 256MB, doubling the 128MB of the DT200. 256MB is good enough to store over 50,000 images, 54 DVDs, 365 CDs or a paper tower over 1KM tall.
The uber expensive price-tag does offer you the privilege of a 5 year warranty with 24/7 tech-support and Kingston has no intentions to force you into buying it, for these are made to order. [via Pocketlint/EverythingUSB]

hurm 900 dollars worth of flash drive roaming around in your pocket going from computer to bag to pocket to computer, maybe this isnt such a good buy even if it has just as much storage space as my desktop http://www.yovia.com/blogs/timlara
Well it’s a bit expensive, I agree, but such a huge amount of storage in your pocket … sounds priceless. Or at least that’s what I think.
note: I wouldn’t pay that much for one though …
HI THERE COOL COOL NOW IF THEY COULD MAKE ONE THAT OFFERS SPEEDS BETWEEN 200 MB/S TOO 2 GB/S THEN I WILL BUY ONE FOR THE X-BOX 360 AND PS3
Got something to say?
