Wefound E-Book Reader from China [Exact Replication of the Amazon Kindle]

These developments reflect on the state of patent law in China where duplicates seem to to be treated as a delight. The latest duplication is that of the Amazon Kindle 2 e-book reader and has been dubbed Wefound. Peking University Founder Group is the culprit behind this development.

Had they not incorporated a navigation jog wheel in the design and that ‘WEFOUND’ emblem beneath the display, there would have been nothing left to differentiate.

Considering the fact that they even replicate cars, the Amazon e-Book reader replication isn’t a massive blunder, but it is still denting for the company which puts in so much efforts to bring out an appreciable original design.

The info can be fed using a SIM card and E Ink Corp’s electronic paper has been used for the display. And guess what, this crap is hitting mass-production and will retail in China for $209 following which it intends to conquer the Japanese market. [via Dvice]
