Getac 9213 “Business Rugged” notebook
It’s not often you can find a ‘rugged’ computer that doesn’t look like it could survive the bumper car ride at the local fair if it only had wheels.

The Getac 9213 is making a bid to look like a notebook yet still the wear the label shock-resistant. The Getac 9213 is actually labeled “business rugged”, which means it can take a few bumps and a drop now and then because of its full magnesium allow chassis and case, a shock-mounted HDD and its 13.3-inch WXGA display, but it’s still not in the league of the Panasonic Toughbook. And we wonder how it would do underwater, aka Lenovo.
The Getac 9213 has a spill-resistant keyboard and touchpad. It can brag about its other hardware specs as well:
- A 45nm Intel Core 2 Duo Penryn-class ULV processor
- 3GB of RAM
- 160GB HDD (250GB optional)
- a battery life of up to 8hrs
- Remove the optical drive, install a second battery and you can go half a day – 12hrs
- WiFi a/g/n, Bluetooth
- 1.3-megapixel webcam
- digital microphone array
- fingerprint scanner
- integrated TPM security module
The Getac 9213 is available now. All you need is $1,799.
