Wireless 700 on Dell Mini 10 Netbooks Assures Navigation Capabilities

The GPS Navigation is all set to conquer a new domain. Soon the Dell Netbooks (specifically the Dell Mini 10) will be available with a $69 Wireless 700 Card which would make the netbook navigation capable, just like your smartphones. The Wi-Fi enabled card would navigate you as ably as the other Sat-Nav devices.
Dell wants to cash in on the opportunity provided by a high number of netbook sales. This development comes at a time when even the GPS Navigation device developers are looking beyond the regular devices. The Wireless 700 card uses a combination of Broadcom’s GPS technology and Skyhook Wireless’ Wi-Fi positioning solutions.
The integrated navigation software will furnish 2D and 3D map viewing and will help save addresses for a trip and route optimization. Users could geo-tag photos to flickr and get weather updates for a specific location.
The Wireless 700 card would come in handy for international visits as it will help avoid heavy roaming charges on a cellphone navigation. Also, such GPS enabled netbooks could chip in for phones in low-signal areas. Too bad they screwed up in Taiwan with those $15 LCDs, eh?
