I’ve always admired the iPhone docks (including the one I possess) for they give you the opportunity to do more with your iPod than just fixing the plug to your ears. Adding to my admiration and your opportunity are a couple of releases from Sony-NAS-Z200iR and CMT-Z100iR iPod Speaker Docks.

The NAS-Z200iR assigns all controls to a advanced visual remote which can also serve as the center for a WiFi streaming system. Not just that, it can also share media streamed from DLNA-supporting devices viz. PS3 or PC software. You can even browse Internet radio stations using the same visual remote. The set up puts out an impressive 40W of sustained power and it should hopefully be around in September.

The CMT-Z100iR shares the audio system of the network-able iteration but it chooses to use the main unit for controls-based on the stealth displays for time and music selection. You can expect this one to ship in August.
