Dyson DC31 Handheld Vacuum’s Motor puts the Turbocharged beasts to shame

James Dyson can sure produce fast electric cars for his motors are good enough to put the turbocharged F1 beasts to shame. With the development of the Dc31-the Vacuum cleaner with the fastest motor in the world- we aren’t sure whether he is really inclined to weave his magic in cars.

Taking a look at his latest motor, it is ten times faster than a commercial aircraft, five times as fast as a formula one engine and more than twice as fast as the fastest milling industrial machines.

Dubbed the reluctance motor, it can attain an astounding 104,000 revolutions per minute. His vacuums have already conquered the problem of suction reduction when pulling dust almost two decades ago and now with this motor intact there is hardly a better competitor.

The DC31 ofcourse comes with a price as the standard model retails for $220 while the Animal costs $270 (UK only). [via Gizmodo]

I am sure it is just a commercial product with bad suction characteristics. Saying how fast it is tells totally nothing to a customer. Tell me how much energy it needs to clean a square meter of hard floor or what is the efficiency of it. A bag wacuum cleaner is still the most efficient on the market.

Got something to say?
