World’s First USB Monitor [Samsung SyncMaster LD220]

The monitor was probably the only marketed electronic device which could not be hooked through a USB port. Not any more, as Samsung introduces the SyncMaster LD220 as the first to be connected by a USB Monitor in the world. It feels great to know that a display can now be connected through a single USB cable and it signifies that the days for Analog and DVI ports are numbered.
The exact specifications are not yet out but what is known is that this display measures 24-inches in width with a general response time of 5ms. The contrast ratio is 30,000:1 and the SyncMaster has a 300cd/m2 brightness level.
This novel screen is still in its infancy and therefore facts like the lack of audio support can be ignored for the moment. With more thought put into the evolvement of this monitor, we will hardly be able to find a reason to draw our caustic daggers out in the future.
